About Me
Joey Pinder’s current project explores how spatial audio enhances the realism of magic sound effects in games. Using Dolby Atmos and impulse responses, a custom sound library is integrated into Unreal Engine, with perceptual testing evaluating how sound design influences perceptions of power, realism, and magic across visual media.
Undergoing the Sound Design MSc course at the University of Edinburgh providing experience with Game Audio, Audio Programming, Ambisonics and Surround Sound.
Following his Music Production BA (Hons) achieved at BIMM Brighton, studying Music and Sound for Games, Music and Sound for Film and TV, Audio Post Production, and many more, Joey’s continued interest in sound and music drives his research and career while launching as a solo artist later this year.
Outside of audio, Joey enjoys playing video games, travelling, hiking, watching films and and being on-set. Involved in various short films, including 'My RØDE Reel’ submissions - scoring, acting and co-producing. Additional compositions for educational videos, and delivered multiple high-quality compositions as a music producer.
